Research labs are faculty-led groups conducting specialized research in psychological and brain sciences.

Lab Profiles

Lab Information

Each lab profile displays:

  • Name - Lab name (often includes PI name)
  • PI - Principal Investigator/Lab Director
  • Focus Areas - Research themes and topics
  • Description - Overview of lab research
  • Members - Current lab members
  • Publications - Lab publication list
  • Website - External lab website link

Viewing Lab Details

  1. Navigate to ResearchLabs
  2. Click on a lab name
  3. Browse the lab profile page

Lab Members

Member Types

Labs can include:

  • Principal Investigator - Faculty lab director
  • Faculty - Other affiliated faculty
  • Postdocs - Postdoctoral researchers
  • Graduate Students - PhD and Masters students
  • Undergraduate Students - Research assistants
  • Staff - Research coordinators, technicians

Member Display

For each member:

  • Profile photo and name
  • Role in the lab
  • Link to their profile
  • Research focus (if specified)

Managing Your Lab

Editing Lab Information

If you're the lab PI:

  1. Go to your lab page
  2. Click Edit Lab
  3. Update fields as needed
  4. Click Save

Editable Fields

You can modify:

  • Lab name
  • Description (rich text)
  • Research focus areas
  • Lab website URL
  • Contact information

Managing Members

Add or remove members:

  1. Go to LabMembers
  2. Click Add Member
  3. Search for the person
  4. Select their role
  5. Click Add

To remove: Click the ✕ next to their name

Lab Publications

Automatic Aggregation

Lab publications are automatically gathered:

  • From all lab members' profiles
  • Based on publication dates during membership
  • Including affiliated author matches

Highlighting Key Papers

Feature important publications:

  1. Go to lab Publications tab
  2. Find the publication
  3. Click Highlight
  4. Paper appears in "Key Papers" section

Publication Settings

Configure what appears:

  • Include all member publications
  • Only papers with lab acknowledgment
  • Filter by date range

Lab Resources

Adding Resources

Labs can share resources:

  1. Go to LabResources
  2. Click Add Resource
  3. Enter resource details:
    • Name
    • Description
    • URL or file
    • Access level

  • Datasets
  • Protocols
  • Documentation
  • Code repositories

Creating a New Lab

Who Can Create Labs

New labs are created:

  • By department administrators
  • When faculty are hired
  • Upon request with approval

Request Process

  1. Contact department administration
  2. Provide lab name and description
  3. Specify initial members
  4. Lab is created and linked to PI
