Project Types

Projects can represent:

  • Grant-funded research - NIH, NSF, foundation grants
  • Collaborative studies - Multi-lab or multi-institution
  • Student projects - Thesis or capstone projects
  • Internal initiatives - Department research programs

Project Profiles

Project Information

Each project includes:

  • Title - Project name
  • Description - Overview and goals
  • PI/Lead - Project leader
  • Team - Project members
  • Status - Active, completed, planned
  • Timeline - Start and end dates
  • Funding - Funding source (if applicable)

Viewing Projects

Browse Projects

  1. Navigate to ResearchProjects
  2. Filter by status, PI, or research area
  3. Click to view project details

Project pages show:

  • Full description
  • Team member list with roles
  • Related publications
  • Associated labs and centers
  • Project resources

Creating Projects

Who Can Create

Projects can be created by:

  • Faculty members (for their research)
  • Lab managers (for lab projects)
  • Administrators (for department initiatives)

Creating a Project

  1. Navigate to ResearchProjects
  2. Click New Project
  3. Fill in project details
  4. Add team members
  5. Save

Managing Projects

Editing Projects

Project leads can:

  • Update description and goals
  • Add/remove team members
  • Change project status
  • Update timeline
  • Add related publications
