The Student Dashboard is your personalized home page in PBS Knowledge, providing a comprehensive view of your academic status.

Dashboard Layout​

The dashboard is organized into several sections:

Displays:

  • Your name and profile photo
  • Class year
  • Primary major/minor
  • Overall GPA (if available)

Progress Summary​

A visual overview of your degree completion:

Current Courses​

Shows your enrolled courses for the current term:

  • Course code and title
  • Instructor name
  • Meeting times
  • Status (enrolled, waitlisted)

Upcoming Milestones​

Lists approaching deadlines:

  • Registration dates
  • Thesis milestones (if applicable)
  • Application deadlines
  • Review meetings

Quick Actions​

Buttons for common tasks:

  • Plan Courses - Open the degree planner
  • View Progress - See detailed requirement fulfillment
  • Update Profile - Edit your information
  • Apply for Thesis - Start honors thesis application

Using the Dashboard​

Viewing Degree Progress​

  1. The progress bar shows overall completion percentage
  2. Click any requirement category to see details
  3. Hover over completed courses to see how they apply

Checking Course Enrollment​

  1. Current courses appear automatically from registrar sync
  2. Click a course to see the full course page
  3. View syllabus and textbook information

Managing Milestones​

  1. Upcoming milestones show due dates
  2. Click to view milestone details
  3. Submit required materials directly

Dashboard Widgets​

Progress Ring​

The circular progress indicator shows:

  • Overall degree completion (center number)
  • Requirement category breakdown (segments)
  • Color coding: green (complete), yellow (in progress), gray (not started)

Timeline View​

The timeline shows your academic journey:

  • Past terms with completed courses
  • Current term with enrolled courses
  • Future terms with planned courses

Notifications​

System notifications appear for:

  • New milestone assignments
  • Approaching deadlines
  • Profile updates required
  • Sync status changes

Customization​

Reordering Widgets​

  1. Click the settings icon in the dashboard header
  2. Drag widgets to reorder
  3. Changes save automatically

Collapsing Sections​

  1. Click the collapse icon on any section
  2. Section minimizes to a header bar
  3. Click again to expand

Mobile View​

On smaller screens:

  • Sections stack vertically
  • Progress ring remains visible
  • Quick actions move to a floating menu
  • Swipe between sections

Troubleshooting​

Dashboard Not Loading​

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Clear browser cache
  3. Try logging out and back in
  4. Contact support if issues persist

Missing Course Data​

  1. Course data syncs daily from the registrar
  2. Recently added courses may take 24 hours to appear
  3. Contact support for urgent updates

Incorrect Progress​

  1. Progress is calculated based on synced courses
  2. Manual overrides may be needed for transfer credits
  3. Contact your advisor for discrepancies
